She earned worldwide recognition and admiration by giving the people of the world one of their most unforgettable moments in the history of sports by scoring the very first perfect ten ever on bars that were symmetrical, during the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. To add to that, she went to score six more perfect 10s, and became the youngest all-around Olympic gold medalist, at just 14 years of age. Nadia Comaneci didn't just get international attention, but she also put Romania on the map. In achieving a result that was unattainable and a sporting legend, she brought gymnastics into the spotlight of global interest. Also, it changed the way people think of women athletes. The impact she had was such that she was named the Olympic toe on and release move. These are still rated as difficult. Apart from the Olympics the gymnast showed a remarkable performances at the World Championships and European Championships too, and thus became the most famous living legend, and also one of the top gymnasts that the world can ever achieve.
